Developing Yuvasarani- A malayalm typeface.

I started developing Yuvasarani for a student organization which I'm part of- as part of my personal project to brand its upcoming conference in December 2010. I started re-sketching on a scribbling i found on my old sketchbook and started with 'Sa' followed by 'Na' and 'Ra', and few others later. So far I have only finished 60 glyphs and I would need some 'big' inspiration to complete the rest.
I have had my initial font glyphs sent to few typographers, whose encouragement\feedback's were quite an inspiration.
God help me complete this!

Experimental Type in Malayalam

To keep my self busy, I have been doing an experimental Handwritten type in Malayalam, I would be releasing it soon.Watch out.

Going to the BarCamp Kerala 5

I'm all ready for the BarCamp Kerala 5 and I hope its going to rock this time.( And unlike the previous BarCamp).
I have made up my Presentation Introduction to Drupal and hope it works out just fine.
I will be starting off from here on Saturday evening by Train ( not sure).

Type love.

The very idea of creating fonts happened to me when I found the lack of commercial typefaces in Malayalam, and rather very few choice I had with the ISM package. I have been trying to create a Malayalam type face, but after few initial sketching I loose focus.Read more

Almost completed Malabar Cuisines

I had to urgently put on the web work of Malabar Cuisines, The site of Abida Rasheed, a well known Malabar culinary artist.

I already had sliced the whole site down, but had not yet converted it to Codeigniter, the PHP framework I often use.

I and Jasir, After 5 hour long, managed to run the site online, but only later to face loads of bugs.

( I never knew that I could finish up stuffs so fast).
